FORTIS Fibre Optic – Spool

The Fortis Spool is a rugged and easy to use spool to simply storage and deployment of Fibre Optic tethers used on any ROV. Water resistant components and a single pass fibre optic slip allows for high speed communications between the topside controller and the ROV. The Fortis winch features and easy to replace slip ring assembly as well as a reel lock to allow secure locking of the reel while in transport.

With a choice of ST or FC connectors, the reel comes with a 20m ruggedised deck lead. This length can be customised to suit a customers request. All spools have a folding rotating handle to ensure long duration windings do not cause sore hands.

These spools are made to order which allows for a customer to have custom branding machined right into the plate, if requested.

The Fortis comes in two sizes.

• *Medium for FO Tethers up to 800m
• *Large for FO Tethers up to 1600m

All Fortis spools are prepared for future add-on’s such as level wind and electric motor. These are future developments already being worked on at Bay Dynamics.
